Memberships are a legal requirement - you must be a member of EACH venue that you wish to play poker in. Memberships vary from £3 - £7.50 see details below I think you will find that the cost of memberships are minimal when spread over a whole year and you benefit from cheaper drinks/discounted rates on hiring out function rooms etc and of course to be able to play poker legally!
R.A.O.B "Buffs" Club, Tresooth Lane Penryn, contact Robin Harris Secretary, 01326 373325 to enquire about membership which cost £6 per annum running from 1st jan - 31st Dec. You must be a member in order to play at this venue and be over 18 years of age. Proof of Id may be asked. The Club has a swipe card entry on the door and if your not a member you cannot get in!
The "Buffs" Club is our longest running venue having been up and running since 2005, hence it is a very popular venue with 50 or more players turning up for the regular Friday night event. The Magpies is our newest venue on the circuit, and we will be holding events there every Tuesday evening. The Magpies offer a large area for poker and it is hoped that new players from Penzance and the surrounding area will attend these events making poker more accesible to the far South West of the region. The Royal British Legion holds its Poker tournaments on a Thursday night ......'If its Thursday night its Legion night' They are held upstairs in the ample function room which is capable of holding over 100 poker players at once, with its own bar and an 'Old school Gentlemans Club' feel to it, its an ideal place to play poker!
