CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL RESULT

There’s always a Hosking.......on a  Cruise Ship!

Craig Hosking won the Champions League final to win the biggest prize ever offered by Cornwall Poker – a Caribbean cruise for two leaving in January 2008. Craig will take his brother Rob and they will represent Cornwall as they sail around the Caribbean playing poker 24/7 for 10 days solid. Craig qualified for the Final by only one point but on the day he played exquisite poker to run out the well deserved winner. Work pressures have curtailed Craig’s attendances at tournaments as the year drew to a close but when he has played .....he has shown great skill and is a player that never seems to make a mistake. Craig is an absolute gentleman at the tables and will make a terrific ambassador for all Cornwall Poker players. Look out New York – the Hoskings are in town!!

Dale Paull showed the standard of play throughout the league as he qualified for the Final through the play-offs and then went onto take second place in the Final itself and a healthy payday of £424! Dale is well thought of in Redruth poker circles but his name will now also be well known across the whole of the Cornwall poker circuit. Excellent player with an uncanny ability to read hands as well as having the skill to be able to “change gears” as and when the situation demands it.

Tony Fabricator, 2007 League Champion, played with all of his usual panache but just couldn’t find the rub of the green as his all-in call with 2nd pair and flush draw was seen off by Craig’s top pair.

Yvonne Newell capped a breath-taking season as she finished in 4th place

The Dean Bray Corporation took 5th place

Emil “the Brilliant Bulgarian” Ivanov took 6th to round off and amazing season.....he only learnt how to play the game in March 2007!!!

Simon Whear took 3 awards in the annual voting and is another player who has had a fantastic season personally.

Gareth Fulcher – many pundits sweepstake choice – found his pocket cowboys murdered on the FT and could not recover as he finished in 8th.

Rob Hosking folded everything on the FT until he found pocket rockets....called by Yvonne’s pocket tens.......as a straight hit the tens, Rob almost had to be carried to the rail in shock! Rob will be the happiest though as he accompanies his brother on the holiday of a lifetime!

Martin Adams, who qualified through the Online League, won the last prize of the evening with 10th place.
